melcenaMade a new recipe tonight, Hamburger Buddy. It's quite good actually! I may put it on my list of things to make in March.
I've cleaned house a bit today, or I really should say I cleaned the kitchen. And then cooked. So the kitchen is back to being in need of a cleaning. I need to clean the living room, I may get to that tomorrow.
For those of you just wondering what the doctor said, skip straight to the end!
I'm guessing that the pregnancy tests here in Germany suck. The doctor was surprised that a test would have given me a positive result only a few days after my period was due. He was really skeptical about it's accuracy.
So, as is apparently common practice here, he started looking for evidence of something clinging to the walls of my uterus with an ultrasound wand. Inside my vagina. He said he probably wouldn't find anything but he was giving it the old college try. Did you know it's rather unpleasant having someone wiggle one of those things around in there? It is. He did find something that he said was some sort of "structure" and was entirely inconclusive.
Then he drew blood, and I really have to give him kudos on that. Most people who are in the position of drawing blood from me seem to think I'm a liar. I tell them: "It's really hard to get blood out of me, you'll want to draw it from my hand or wrist." Then they proceed to stick me multiple times in both elbows and then end up doing it the way I said they would need to in the first place. This doctor on the other hand said "Okay" and pulled it from the wrist. Quick, and painless. I should bake him cookies.
As for the test results themselves, he said I'd need to call at 7pm tonight. Writing all of this before I call, trying to kill time. He said that if it's negative I should come in on the 12th to see where I am in my cycle, never mind that I haven't gotten my period, I guess. And if I'm positive I need to come in on Thursday or Friday.
POSITIVE! "You're a little bit pregnant." The doctor said to come in again on Thursday morning. :-D
